Bike East Bay fights for a more equitable transportation system in the East Bay — a region of the San Francisco Bay Area with nearly 3 million residents. They offer bicycle safety classes and create campaigns for safe streets and livable cities.

I’m a big fan of Bike East Bay, so I was really excited to create this series of illustrations for them! These illustrations were used in training materials for bicycle safety classes, and as pamphlets during their advocacy work.

These illustrations help build cyclists’ confidence by teaching them how to ride safely in a dense urban environment — things like making sure you avoid car doors opening. We wanted the illustrations to be fun, friendly, and inclusive.
